By the time Sunday rolled around , temperatures were a bit warmer , and the sun decided to make an appearance . This time , it was Rieju USA ’ s own Quinn Wentzel in the instructor ’ s seat , with Megan Griffiths working as the assistant . For those unaware , Wentzel has a diverse background in motorcycle riding , with the most recent having been a Pro-class trials rider for RYP / Sherco prior to turning to the hard enduro life . Many of the techniques used in the trials world translate nicely to the enduro / big-bike world and are easily seen in Quinn ’ s riding style . The syllabus started out much the same as the previous day : bike set-up , body position , and suspension and tire discussions , followed by a static balance drill and some throttle / clutch control work .
This is where the Introduction to Hard Enduro took things up a notch . After working on counterweighting the bike while going around obstacles , Quinn demonstrated front wheel hops and foot plants , all with the goal of learning to precisely place the front wheel ( this is where
