In order to live stream and ride I had to built a small backpack with a computer , graphics card , multiple mobile phones and a battery to power it all and on the should sits a small action camera . None of this was off the shelf and required serious technical engineering as well some months in the making but it allowed me to capture great footage and live stream it while at the event . As far as I can tell , I think we actually set a world first in this process as no one prior has live streamed while competing in a trials event !
The event itself was well attended from local , interstate , and international guests . The effort that went into setting sections , marking the loop were amazing . However ,
the Pro shoot-out in the Saturday afternoon was something else . The atmosphere of the crowd and the sheer audacity of the section setters to create such monster obstacles and challenging sections was a sight to behold . I ’ ve got a new found respect for the courage of the US Pro riders after seeing what they attempted .
So , what were the take-aways from this amazing experience : Well first up is plan better . Next time I would like to also do a national event ! Maybe next year …
The rules are different between countries . I had so many 5 ’ s because I went through someone else ’ s gate . In Australia I simply have
