As a President of the Southern California Trials Association ( SCTA ), the event ' s organizer , I grew more anxious with each postponement . With each apology made to a sponsor , I felt more pressure delivering on the promise .
In structure and size , El Trial is similar to a National event . Those involved with hosting National events are familiar with the timeline and workload . The planning starts many months ahead of the event . No matter how hard you try or how many hours you pour into it , you can count on one thing : IT WON ' T BE PERFECT !
Your chance that something will go wrong is about 99 %. Many times it is conditions out of your control . Such as the weather . El Trial is hold in Cahuilla , California . A high desert location infamous for its 30 + mph wind . You are also working with a large pool of staff , chances of someone canceling on you last minute are 100 %.
We have received generous sponsors ' support , which enabled us to host the 50th Anniversary in style . To increase attendance and fundraising potential of El Trial , SCTA collaborates with Gas Gas and their California Trials Invitational event , as well as NATC and their national schedule .
