As the green flag flew at the Hoosier GNCC , it was Red Bull / FMF Factory KTM ’ s Josh Toth nipping the Coastal Racing Factory GasGas ride of Ricky Russell for the holeshot to start the race . As the field headed into the woods , Toth would lead while points leader Ben Kelley would work his way around the outside of Russell to slot into second behind his teammate . Kelley would work his way into the lead shortly after , as behind him Toth and AmPro Yamaha ’ s Layne Michael would camp on the rear wheel of the number one for the first half of the race . Behind the leading trio would be Russell , Magna1 Motorsports Husqvarna ’ s Jordan Ashburn , Rockstar Energy Husqvarna teammates Trevor Bollinger and Craig Delong , with Rev Motorsports GasGas ’ Grant Baylor and Babbitts Online / Monster Energy Kawasaki ’ s Josh Strang in tow .
As the race unfolded , Kelley would lead with a healthy gap at the completion of lap five , with Toth still holding down the second position , and Michael in third . The battle behind would see positions change throughout the first two hours , as Bollinger , Delong , and Ashburn would swap positions fourth through sixth . As the final two laps were
