had a small flare-up of tendonitis , which tested his mental capabilities as much , if not more , than his physical ones . By the time the second loop started , it was audibly evident that the remaining sections would be a strain , but no one doubted that he would push through the pain to the finish . Even with the added challenge , Pat took another win , only putting 12 points on the scoreboard .
“ I ' m not sure how today went ,” said Pat , laughing as he spoke . “ I don ' t know how it went as well as it did with how I was feeling . I had a couple of little issues that were not so fun to deal with , and it was pretty painful all day . And I just tried to do the best I could with what I had .
And luckily it was enough . I still made a few mistakes . One in number 11 on the first loop ; it was a big , undercut ledge . I used third gear , but I rode like I was in second and didn ' t get the front end up enough . I went to second gear the next two times and figured that part of it out and then just a bunch of single dabs here and there just again kind of lacked the strength and fitness with it .
I had some good saves though a few of them could have been a lot worse and luckily I was able to hold on to them . We ' re all just really surprised at how well I was able to ride . Today I really didn ' t even care about anything but finishing . I try my best , but if I dabbed , I dabbed , if I
