Chris Roberson and Mike Yazell . It ’ s always great to share trials with new people . Jim Bridges is always happy when he rides and Russ has renewed enthusiasm since getting his 250 Vertigo ! Riding buddies Chris and Mike still had smiles on their faces post event and said they had a great time .
The largest class was Amateur and it was a bit of a family affair , ain ’ t it great ! Matt Tyson setup the youth trials ( his two daughters competed ) and took the win in Amateur . Riding buddies Patrick Maloney and Russ Morgan competed alongside their sons James and Henry . It doesn ’ t get any better than riding with family and friends ! Steve Reese from Iowa and Tyler Carpenter filled out the class . I asked Tyler what his favorite section was and he told me the hillclimb . It was the hardest one for him but he got better in it each time . That ’ s a great attitude !
Advanced Amateur class was won by Tim Turnbull . In recent years Tim occasionally rode with us on a vintage bike like last month on a TL250 . But he purchased Russ Amos ’ GG and I hope he joins us more often ! Mike Carpenter came in 2nd on his recently new GG280 while Chris Bertrand was 3rd on his
recently new EM electric trialer .
I rode the Intermediate class and I always enjoy riding and even better with great friends like Richard Bowden and Wes Robertson . Wes has a new “ cheater ” TRS 300 E-start that he is apparently still getting used to . I saw him kick start it several times instead of pushing the button !
The Master class was won by long time top MATT ’ er Jason Carpenter , second by Bruce Carver and 3rd was Bill Sanderson .
Randy Dennis and his 2 sons Nate and Dawson were at the quarry but their purpose was to scout out sections for May ’ s event .
It was great to ride the quarry again and to ride and visit with some wonderful trials people !
