The infamous Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino , California , played host to Round 3 of the Kenda AMA West Extreme Championship , back for the 11th running of the Last Dog Standing ( LDS ) event .
Similar to the previous few rounds of the Extreme series , a hot lap was run on Saturday to determine positions for Sunday ' s main races . FMF KTM ' s Trystan Hart , still running on the highs of winning the Iowan Hard Enduro , finished the hot lap in first , followed by FactoryONE Sherco USA ' s Cody Webb in second , Rockstar Energy Husqvarna ' s Colton Haaker in third , KTM ' s Taylor Robert in fourth , and RPM KTM ' s Will Riordan rounding out the top five .
On Saturday , the day opened with moto one , approximately seven-anda-half miles in length . Haaker was on his game and was able to get ahead of the pack , but ran into some issues when he hit the last obstacle , the iconic tire wall that LDS is known for . Haaker was unable to clean the obstacle fast enough , and was passed by a few riders before he was able to overcome . He crossed the finish in fifth place .
Webb had a slower start to the moto , but ultimately pulled it together , overcoming all riders in front of him to cross the finish in first place , finishing in 26 minutes and 29 seconds , a full 39 seconds ahead of Taylor Robert in second , Trystan Hart in third , and Cory Graffunder in fourth .
For the final moto , Haaker started out in fifth-place based on his moto one finish . Climbing his way up to a second-place position , he was once again challenged with the tire wall and unfortunately lost time ; only losing one position , he finished with a third place . With a 5-3 finish for the day , Haaker was awarded a fourth place overall .
