Sunday ' s competition proved to be a bit on the easier side again , with most of the scores even lower than the previous day . Smage took a single dab in section 5 of the first loop , his one and only dab for the day . Close behind was Roper with five points , with teammate Blanc- Gonnet earning his second podium of the year with 27 points .
In the end , Smage was able to secure his 13th National title with consistent wins in each of this year ' s rounds . Roper was right on his tail , finishing second in each round and second overall . The final place on the podium came down to a tie-breaker , as both Blanc-Gonnet and Alex Myers tied on 108 series points ; but it was the GasGas rider who took the position . Myers would have to settle for a fourth overall , with Niederer rounding out the top 5 for the 2022 season .
After securing his championship in the Expert Sportsman ( ES ) class , Beta ' s Mika Lonsdale decided to join teammates Cole Cullins and Jay Gregorowicz in the Expert class . Turning in a first loop score of 33 points , tied with Vertigo ' s Dalton Dunman , Lonsdale proceeded to improve each loop , earning a total of 88 points for the day and taking fifth place .
