first loop with eight points and make an impressive clean second loop . FactoryONE Sherco ' s Will Myers had a rough start to the weekend ; not able to find a good groove with the terrain , Will took a few tumbles in the first loop , earning 17 points and putting him in fourth place . He was able to gain a bit of ground in loop two , shaving seven points off his score .
The highlight of the day ' s competition came in the form of the Pro Shootout . In place of a third loop , the Pro riders battled out the remainder of their day in a series of four spectacular spectator-friendly sections , each of which would be ridden twice . Ride order was determined by current score , with TRS ' s Sam Fastle drawing the short straw and going first .
The Pros were given a chance to walk all four sections the day before , working with Trials Master Bobby Warner and Safety Steward Jim Fox to ensure the sections were rideable . Through discussion with all parties , sections were modified where needed .
And right out of the gate , Shootout Section # 1 claimed a fair number of points . Smage , who rode last , was able to clean both attempts . Roper took maximum points the first ride through , but cleaned up his second attempt to only two points . Will Myers was the only other rider to take a two-point ride , with all other
