THEY CALL IT THE ‘ MOST PRESTIGIOUS HARD ENDURO IN THE WORLD ’. WHAT MAKES THIS RACE SPECIAL ? The atmosphere is crazy over there . The spectators , racers , and the town itself just seems to live for the one race a year .
IS THERE A SIMILAR RACE / RIDING AREA IN THE US ? CAN YOU COMPARE IT WITH ANYTHING ? I guess I could compare it to snow shoe gncc . Not the track , but just the fans and craziness that goes down . The party scene , which I avoided , was huge . As for riding area , id have to compare it to riding in the North West of the states . Colorado , Idaho area . Infinite traction on the dirt and rocks .
IF YOU GO BACK IN 2023 , HOW WOULD YOU PREPARE / WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE IN YOUR TRAINING ? I am definitely going back , I want redemption ! I wouldn ' t change too much in my training other than maybe ride a lot more rocks . The biggest thing is now I know the important parts of the race that I lacked in . for starters , the start ! You need to be upfront early on . I was not . Think I was in around 30th the
first check , and it might not sound too crazy to get up to 10th , but those are 20 of the best guys in the world and I had to waste a lot of energy to get by them .
WHAT WAS YOUR OVERALL IMPRESSION OF RACING ON A DIFFERENT CONTINENT ? Other than the bad luck with flights , it was an awesome experience ! I cant wait to go back and race more races over seas !
