PRE-CHECK
Make sure you have all your tools ready :
1 ) Rabaconda 2 ) Four tire irons 3 ) Wrench or socket for the rimlock
4 ) Lube for the foam insert ( they make specialized products for this , but they aren ’ t totally necessary ; I like Murphy ’ s Oil Soap . I once even watched someone use a tub of Crisco and nothing terrible happened , but I simply can ’ t recommend that ).
5 ) Bonus points if you have a spray-bottle of RuGlyde ( find it at your local auto parts place ) to help the bead slide on easier . Some people will use WD40 , etc . However , the advantage of RuGlyde is that it dries relatively soon after the tire change , while the WD40 doesn ’ t dry at all . I ’ m also a bit leery of having WD40 anywhere near my brake rotors .
Adjust the base of the Rabaconda according to the size of the tire you ’ re changing and loosen your rimlock .
