some riders chose to stick with cutting edge designs from the top brands of today , there was a strong showing of vintage bikes , some of which were older than even their riders .
While scores were being tallied Saturday afternoon , riders and spectators alike were treated to a glimpse of the future of the sport . STRA member Randy Sharp , in addition to consistently strong performances on his sparkly white vintage Yamaha TY , runs the Mark Moon Memorial Foundation youth trial series . These Youth events have often been a part of STRA events , but usually precede the main Saturday event . Moving the youth trial to the afternoon gave adult riders a chance to score and cheer on the youngsters , and maybe even scout out their competition in years to come . Youth riders rode a variety of bikes ranging from a vintage TY80 to a number of OSET electric trials bikes .
