NORTHEAST 24-HR RACE

DATE LOCATION

If a two-hour hare scramble just doesn ’ t seem like enough seat time , why not try 24 hours ? Each year Arcadia Bark Busters hosts the Northeast 24 Hour Challenge where hundreds of teams set out for 24 hours of non-stop racing . Teams can register in different classes such as the “ team class ” which allows up to six riders , the “ duo ” class for two riders , and the bravest group of them all , the “ ironman / ironwomen ” class where riders take on the entire 24 hours by themselves . The course

is designed to be easy , but it is the duration of the event takes care of the difficulty factor . In addition , the weeks of planning and coordination required with your team to prepare for the event is a logistical challenge of its own . Lighting setups and having electricity throughout the night requires strategic planning and organization among teams . The experience to complete one of these races is well worth it , and I recommend anyone who hasn ’ t tried a 24-hour race to do so .
