HEBO PRO 20 PANTS AND JERSEY photos by APRIL O ' NEAL & MEREDITH BLUMHORST

I know what you are thinking , “ I am not ready to go full on Lycra trials pants . I am in this sport just for fun .” Well , that is what I thought for a long time . Stick with me for a minute .
My big requirement of trials pants is good knee / shin protection . It is rare to see this talked about in the descriptions on trials pants . I also wanted something that was going to allow heat to escape . I had similar heat requirements of the jersey . without showing any wear . One downside to the color I picked . The back of the jersey is all black so it can be warm when standing in line for a section in the desert sun of the southwest .
The Hebo Pro 20 pants and jersey are a great investment and should last through many seasons of riding . As with many European brands , buy one size larger than you normally wear .
The pants come with EN1621- 1 certified knee pads . These are similar to D30 knee pads . They are soft and flexible but when struck , they become firm and do a great job at protecting from impacts . The knee pads stay in place and do not shift around . These pants have held up great through a year of riding and show no signs of wear . They have slid across just about any surface imaginable . The material breathes very well and does a great job of keeping me cool . The fit is very comfortable , not snug like wearing bicycle shorts . They have a bit of room . The only downside to the pants is the only pocket is on the small side and does not fit a smartphone well .
The jersey is made from a quick dry polyester . It does a great job of breathing well and never feels wet . It has also held up to many crashes
