Race three was given the opportunity to climb the mountain and experience the bounty of excellent single track therein . Following the exit from the “ sink holes ” the disc brake bikes were directed uphill on a rocky dirt road that begins a delicious mix of worn-in and fresh singletrack , dirt road blasts , and switchbacks as the course winds up and down the hillside . Of course , a generous amount of roots , rocks , and tight trees are to be expected on any Pennsylvania mountain Eventually the disc brake only fun concludes , and the course rejoins in the power line area to follow the established path from earlier races . A touch of light rain in the middle of race three added a bit of aura , but never got to the point of creating much additional challenge .
Another masterful event at Ashcraft Farm with an outstanding turnout which is sure to self-promote and grow next year ’ s event . Hope to see you there !
