was just to much . I ended up calling it quits early , which is really , really disappointing . A lot of effort went into this from both myself and everyone around , so it ’ s disappointing and should only make it stronger for the next round .”
A fair number of riders , after crashing out with no possibility to continue competing , would have called the weekend , licked their wounds and headed home . But not Alex . He still had friends and teammates that had qualified for the big race on Sunday . So he worked with Cody Richelderfer and the rest of the Sherco staff , got himself a radio and a backpack stuffed with water ad Hammer Nutrition products , and positioned himself at a far point in the course during Sunday ’ s main event . Doing so also afforded him some extra experience watching how riders will approach the same section in completely different ways ( very similar to how riders will approach a trials section ).
After the weekend was done , it was time to go home , do some maintenance on the 300 , and get some seat time before the next event . Only two weeks later , the series was traveling to Sugarloaf for the series finale .
