JOSH FMF AMPRO / KTM STRANG YAMAHA ' S BEN , XC1 KELLEY ' S STEWARD OPEN , NE PRO PRO1 BAYLOR , NE PRO1 course up to three times , with their fastest time being used to determine the starting lineup for Sunday ’ s main event . Of the three laps , Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing ’ s Billy Bolt had the fastest time at 8:13.86 , with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing ’ s Manuel Lettenbichler coming in with a time only 12 seconds behind . GasGas Factory Racing ’ s Taddy Blazusiak rounded out the top three . Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing ’ s Graham Jarvis decided to run only two of the three laps , conserving energy for the next day , as he had high confidence of finishing in the top ten for qualifiers . Jarvis ’ best time was only 47 seconds behind Bolt , fast enough to earn him a ninth-place finish . The top 50 competitors would move on to the LIQUI MOLY Super Final .
The day of the main event opened to beautiful skies and moderate temperatures , perfect for a hard day ’ s riding . The organizers had set a 15-kilometer ( approximately 9 miles ) course in which participants would complete two laps . Bolt was the first rider out , followed closely by Lettenbichler , Vision Track Beta ’ s Jonny Walker , and Blazusiak . The first obstacle was a hillclimb , which the
