Webb quickly overtook and put several minutes ahead of the KTM rider by the halfway point of the first lap , ultimately finishing the second loop almost five minutes out front .
Rain continued off-and-on throughout the main event , increasing the course difficulty for the rest of the field . Spectators waiting to cheer on riders as they crossed the finish line would have to wait a full 75 minutes to see the third place of Leblond , the last rider to complete the full two loops within the time limit .
“ The promoters did a great job of trying to beat us down this year ,” said Webb . “ This race may have been more difficult than Erzberg , to be honest . Luckily the temperature was about perfect or we would ’ ve been falling apart . I did my best to act like a Diesel engine and keep trucking forward . I am very happy with my ride and for redeeming
