the bikes would need to be “ cleaned out ” before reaching their full RPM .
The first event with the fuel was high elevation at the Sacramento PITS property in the Sierra Nevada ’ s near Truckee . Normally to get the most out of the bike I would drop down a couple jet sizes . This time I left the bike alone to see how it would feel . I purposefully left the choke on a little longer and let it idle for an extended time before starting my ride . Just like at lower elevations the bike ran crisp for the get go . All through the event the bike ran great , not even an air screw adjustment was made .
From there it was back east for rounds 1 & 2 of the NATC Nationals . Hot and humid where the weather conditions and once again I didn ’ t make any adjustments to the carb and the bike ran excellent there also .
With this fuel there aren ’ t any power gains to be had or anything like that . What you get is a bike that runs cleaner at low rpm and revs out to it ’ s max rpm ’ s when the throttle is twisted wide open . The other good feature for riders who don ’ t ride a lot is the long shelf life , it ’ ll last you for months .
So the question is , is the $ 77 for five gallons or $ 15.40 a gallon worth it ? For major events I believe it is and we are using it . For every day riding I ’ m not certain at this point as we go through about five gallons a week between two of us . What I do know is it ’ s a quality product and we ’ re lucky to have VP invest in our sport .
