to walk and reuse my hands , hours of physical therapy , having my dad help me to go to the bathroom and feed me . I would spend the next 6 months going from doctor visits to physical therapy all while stuck in the C-collar .
My dream of making my way to the NFL had probably ended . I was very blessed that Iowa stuck with me and honored my football scholarship . I have yet to be cleared to see the field at this time . As I began to recover , my love for two wheels started to come back .
After sitting on the sidelines my senior year of high school , my dad looked for ways to bring happiness back into my life . We started slowly with just easy trail rides on a Honda XR400 . As my mobility began to recover and my riding skills improved the thought of competing in motocross was sparked but did not sit well with my parents .
On a mountain bike ride with my dad , I was showing him how I would jump up on a picnic table and other obstacles around the mountain bike course , the light bulb went off into my dad ’ s head that maybe we found a new passion with mototrials . My dad spent many years watching our uncle , Jeff Lois , ride and compete in trials . He thought this would be the right fit and fulfill me in motorcycles and competition .
