going to be that way . It was just a physically demanding day really . The heat , the dryness , the silt , the rocks , everything together just beat me down and all of us are feeling a little worked right now . It was a great race . I had to settle for second ; I just kind of dieseled my way through it and really never put down any heaters , just kind of kept plugging away . It ' s really cool to have my family here , my father-in-law and my kids . Morgan couldn ' t make it … but i ' m thankful that she trusts me enough to fly with [ my son Teddy ]. It was great and having him up there on the podium with me was pretty cool and a special moment .”
Louise Forsley was able to clinch the event win over Kylee Sweeten “ Today really pushed me both mentally and physically . I enjoyed the course a great deal . It was hard , but manageable at the same time , which was appealing to me . Racing for four and a half hours in the heat and elevation was a mental battle . My first lap was rough . I had bent my rotor and thus , Kylee passed me about halfway so I was behind her for a while . I heard I was down more than 6 minutes at a checkpoint . I was able to fix my rotor and then was able
