Sunday opened with the same hot and dry conditions as Saturday . Haaker was able to secure the holeshot and an early lead on the four-hour hare scramble-style race but was overtaken by Roberts in the second turn . A few crashes on the first lap due to low visibility also allowed Hart and Webb to make the pass .
“ Donner Hard Enduro was definitely a frustrating weekend for me ,” Haaker said . “ It was a faster race with a lot of dust and silt , which made it tough . I got a good start but crashed in the dust twice on the first lap and twice by my own mistake . After four hours of racing , I think I amounted to something like 10 crashes and a fourthplace finish .”
The trio of Hart , Webb , and Robert jockeyed for positions in the remaining six laps of the course . Hart patiently followed behind Robert for the first two laps and was able to take the lead going into the third lap . From there he maintained strong , crossing the finish line a full 13 minutes ahead of second place .
