Soothing Advocado & Honey Mask

I want to start by wishing you a peace-filled New Year. This edition of On The Path focuses on the heart chakra. The color for this chakra is usually represented by the color green which has always been my favorite color. Its primary focus is on love. However, other aspects include relationships, self-acceptance and compassion. The heart chakra is the bridge between the lower and upper chakras. What I think is most interesting is that the sense

It has been a very cold and dry winter this year for most areas. Here is a fabulously easy recipe to soothe your dry skin.

You only need two items: Avocado and Honey (preferably local)

- ½ very ripe avocado (organic is preferred)

- ¼ cup honey (raw if you can find it)

Mush up the avocado very well. Stir in the honey. Dampen the areas lightly where you want to apply the mask. Apply to face, neck, and chest area or any other dry areas of the body and leave on for 10 minutes. Remove with a cool cloth. (A hot cloth will irritate

your dry skin).

The Avocado soothes and hydrates the dry skin while applying riboflavin and niacin to build a strong skin barrier. The honey has many antioxidants to help with wrinkles and aging. It is hydrating, soothing, and clarifying. Additionally, it opens the pores making it great treatment for breakouts and acne.

Combined as a mask, these two foods give your skin a nice healthy glow. By using it once every week or every other week during the winter months, you will see the results in time for spring’s thaw! Eat these two wonderful foods and see how they help your skin by working on your insides. Yummy!

Touch plays a significant role in our lives. As an Esthetician, therapeutic touch is part of my work. Not just in applying or cleansing with product but also in how I implement touch techniques to a client’s skin. In addition, using certain touch therapies in my energy work is key to achieving a client’s harmony and balance.

We all benefit from touch. There is a lot that can be said from the act of touch. Even a simple hand shake can mean many things, depending on how firm or soft the shake is. Touch exchanges energy, communicates emotions, and heals our bodies.
