Inside 6 Deciphering breast rashes 10 How to feel forever stylish Welcome Oh the smell of a new year! It’s like freshly cut grass, the ocean on a clear summer’s day or a shower of rain on a hot afternoon. It smells of promise and positivity! At the end of each year, I take time to set my intentions and do a life audit. I like to reminisce about the year that was and what worked well and what requires more time and effort. To be honest, 2019 wasn’t our best year. There were many highs but sadly some of the deepest lows. But even so, we are very grateful to be here, happy and healthy and to be given the opportunity to continue to live our best lives! 14 Type 2 Diabetes 16 Sunshine Coast on my shoulders makes me happy At the time of putting these words together, my life audit isn’t quite complete. But what I do know is that I need to spend time in 2020 refilling my own tank and to make myself a priority sometimes. So a personal goal for myself coming into the new year is to do more yoga classes each week. Four classes would be ideal ~ can I slot them in to my schedule and learn to make them a priority? Let’s hope so. I’ll report back and let you know how I go. So what about you? Do you need to audit your life and let go of what's not important and focus more time and energy on what is? Are you kind to yourself and allow time in your busy schedule just for you? I love these words by Misha Collins – Be kind to yourself so you can be happy enough to be kind to the world. Happy New Year to you. We hope 2020 is your best year yet ~ filled with love, joy, health and peace. 16 Stepping into our new year wisdom 24 Start the new year with intention 26 Summer gardening Simone Editor Printing Simone Evans [email protected] Spotpress Pty Ltd – 9549 1111 Art Director Photography – Cover image www.shutterstock.com Debbie Elliott [email protected] Imagery ingimage.com Publisher Contributors Dr Mary Ling, Sam Woods, Jordi Woods, Sarah Tolmie, Dr Georgia Page, Dorian Mode, Lydia Thorpe, Vickey Taylor, Adrienne Garside Phone: 4325 3393 Debbie Elliott – Ph: 0421 026 915 Simone Evans – Ph: 0413 186 431 trading as On the Coast Publications ABN 66 765 066 257 54 Hills Street, North Gosford 2250 30 On The Coast happenings 4 O N T H E C OA S T – OV ER 5 5 Warranty & Indemnity Advertisers and/or advertising agencies upon and by lodging material with the Publisher for publication or authorising or approving of the publication of any material INDEMNIFY the Publisher, its servants and agents against all liability claims or proceedings whatsoever arising from the publication and without limiting the generality of the fore-going to indemnify each of them in relation to defamation, slander of title, breach of copyright, infringement of trademarks or names of publication titles, unfair competition or trade practices, royalties or violation of rights or privacy AND WARRANT that the material compiles with all relevant laws and regulations and that its publication will not give rise to any rights against or liabilities in the Publisher, its servants or agents and in particular that nothing therein is capable of being misleading or deceptive or otherwise in breach of Part V of the Trade Practices Act 1974.
