14 Finding hope at Christmas
Welcome
My favourite room in our home is our kitchen. It has the power to connect
us all together, as we share meals. Food has a special way of joining us
together. We gather to eat and with that daily process, we also share stories
and happenings. Dinner time is the one time of the day where our family is
together, present in each other’s company...and it’s a time that I look forward!
Food is important to our family and meal preparation takes a great deal
of my time. It’s a choice that I make and one that brings me great joy. I love to
cook, so I guess that makes it easier!
Each week I do a meal plan and grocery list that allows my week to run
smoothly and alleviates the ‘what’s for dinner’ on my way home from work.
We eat fresh, nutritious food that doesn’t take forever to prep or cook and

which fills the tummies of my busy family. It also allows me to stick to my
weekly food budget!
To me, making food for my family is giving them bowls of love! Yummy,
mouth watering, tummy filling love. Seeing them enjoy a meal makes my
heart full. With this is mind, should we start a favourite recipe column?
Should we share our tried and tested ones with each other? Send me an email
with your thoughts.
Here is a favourite Christmas recipe of ours! Hope you love it as much
as we do! Enjoy the upcoming festive season, we can’t quite believe it’s that
time of year again!
