BURBANK HOUSE & GARDEN The garden in July Welcome to July in the garden, with the arrival of winter comes out rose season plus a bit of rain and cooler weather. I still think it’s great time to be out in the garden but then I am biased, I love my gardening. We have some great varieties of roses this year. It’s great time of the year to add or start, your home orchard garden and plant a fruit tree or two. New season roses have started to arrive Our 2019 roses have started to arrive. We have a great range of roses coming in, so you will be spoilt for choice! We still have plenty of the old favourites, Blue Moon, Double Delight and Mr. Lincoln to just name a few. This is also the best time to plant roses all through winter while they are dormant. If planting into pots, be sure to use a good quality potting mix and water in well with a seaweed solution. When planting in garden, add good quality compost, dig into existing soil, apply seaweed and you will give your roses the best start possible.
