On the Coast – Families Issue 96 I October/November 2019 | Page 4
OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2018
Welcome
Last week the wheels fell off our family bus! It was due to
feeling out of control busy and that life was spinning too
fast. I wasn’t organised at home and I wasn’t organised
at work, which means my mental health suffers and I
become stressed. Add to the mix that I haven’t been to
the gym in three weeks and there is the perfect recipe for
disaster.

46 What’s on
Our house is a busy one this year, with last semester at
uni for our Miss 21, HSC approaching for Miss 18 and a
full sporting diary for our Master 13. Throw in work, a
hubby who does long hours and travels regularly with his
work and a border collie who deserves her daily walks and
stimulation and the days and nights are full!
We all have our trigger points with stress and not being
organised is mine. It causes me much anxiety and nervous
energy. I’m normally calm and content in my daily life and
enjoy all the wonders our busy life includes but lately it
has made me feel overwhelmed.
So a little self care is required. Today is Monday and the
beginning of a new working week. I’ve started well with
an early morning pooch walk, an empty ironing basket
and the slow cooker tending to the chicken for dinner!
I hope your wheels are firmly on your bus and that life is
moving along calmly for you. If like me, you are running
instead of walking, take a breath, get out in the sunshine
and be kind to yourself. Something I’m going to try and do!
