Number 100! 18 years ago, we had a dream of creating a publication that would inspire and support local families and 18 years later, here we are! We can honestly say that it hasn’t come without sweat and tears and an incredible amount of hard work, self-doubt, fear and courage. How quickly these years have passed, especially when you see our first cover shot that featured our little people (above right) and now they are big people navigating life as adults (latest family photos below). Fear is what we feel and courage is what we do! These words have stayed with us since we heard them spoken at a seminar by Lorraine Murphy. It’s truly impossible to be courageous without some degree of fear showing its ugly head beforehand. Courage and self-belief are the two most important ingredients when sustaining a small business in today’s environment. It’s tough and there is no backup plan, no one to hold your hand and no one to dig you out, if you fall in a big hole. When we first started out in 2002, we came across some really tough business people that said “get some runs on the board and come back and see us”. We’ll never forget these words or the impact they had on us. From that moment on, it was pure determination and faith in our product that drove us to succeed. Our publications have evolved over the years and grown into the business we always envisioned. The content is topical, local and drawn from many talented contributors who are passionate about their field of expertise and generous in sharing their knowledge. It’s these contributors who make each edition the best it can be. Our heartfelt thanks to every single writer who has contributed over the past years. As our publications have matured into lifestyle magazines, we’ve made the decision to re-brand. Our trading name is ‘On the Coast Publications’ so it was an easy choice to make... On The Coast – Families & On The Coast – Over 55s. It’s exciting to change it up and we really feel our new publication titles are ideal for where our business is at. You will still receive the same great quality and content but in a refreshed format. As a thank you for your ongoing support, we have GIVEAWAYS galore in this edition. Don't forget to enter for your chance to be in the lucky draw! A thousand thank-yous for your never ending support and for the ongoing feedback and suggestions. We have loved putting together every single edition and look forward to publishing our next 100!
