Remembrance Services
2012
The annual Sunday Remembrance Service has been held
in November every year to remember the fallen soldiers from
both world wars. Since 2012 I have attended four out of the
five held each year.

Civic Service 2014
In 2014 the Civic Service was quite a large event and included
the start of the Arlesey Remembers You project.. The
service was very well attended. Including a reading from the
Commander of RAF Henlow.
The project itself was borne out of an idea by Duncan Wang.
He wondered if a Poppy cross could be laid on the grave or
resting place of each of the fallen soldiers who lost their lives
named on the War Memorial from the First World War. The
project once under way gained momentum very quickly and
saw residents, schoolchildren and local dignitaries get involved
in making it happen.
The project was a huge success
and achieved its aim. The website
set-up as part of it is still open. If you
have any information on any of
the fallen please contact the
Project here:

With money from the project Jim Bowskill and his
family were able to see a gravestone added to his
uncle’s grave in the churchyard.
