Etonbury Academy
A Brilliant result for the School!
‘This is a brilliant school’ wrote the Ofsted inspectors in the first line of their
inspection report. Although this came as no surprise to the staff and students
at the school, we were all very pleased to receive such a glowing account of
our work and achievements. It had been two years since the last inspection
and everyone had worked exceptionally hard in order to move from merely
satisfactory to being labelled as a good school that has many outstanding
practices. Highlights of the report include:
• tudents are well prepared for the next stage of their education
S
• tudents enjoy school
S
• vibrant atmosphere and strong sense of community permeates
A
through the school
• Parents, staff and students all take great pride in its work
• Teaching is stimulating and enjoyable for students
• tudents have positive attitudes to learning
S
Along with lots of positive feedback from Ofsted the academy have been
given some points to help make the school even better in order that we offer
a completely outstanding education to the children.

Christmas Market – Friday 14th December
This year we are changing the format of our Christmas Market. Pupils will
be working with tutors to plan, resource, advertise and set up a stall at the
Christmas Market that makes a profit. Come and support us.
Haven’t we done well?
Head teachers from middle schools across Bedford and Central
Bedfordshire met at the Barns Hotel. High on the agenda was a celebration
of our best ever, set of Year 6 national test results. Councillor David
sawyer said “We are delighted with Key Stage 2 results in 2012 which

represented a substantial improvement in standards.” Our students were
particularly praised at this event, having outperformed most local schools,
and were represented to take part in a photograph to commemorate
our achievements. It’s wonderful to see our students leading in school
achievements locally and nationally.
