After a very informative opening
meeting on the Working Groups
by Alison Eardley, initial meetings
have been held for some of the
Working Groups. The aim of
these small groups is to engage
with various sections of the
community to gain information
and aspirations of the village,
and to add these into the content of the plan. It is vital to put together a plan
that reflects the views of as many areas of the community as possible. So
the Working Groups will be looking to contact residents, local business,
authorities, schools – just about everyone who can make a difference.
To find out how you could get involved contact the steering group –

Sylvia Geekie
A group of members of Arlesey
W.I. attended the funeral on
Monday August 10th of Sylvia
Geekie who had recently died,
one month short of her 98th
birthday. We went to pay our
respects and to remember with
fondness and joy our lovely
Sylvia. She was probably our
most long standing member.
A member for 84 years, she
joined when she was just 14
years old and the W.I. became
an important part of her life.
Sylvia was always cheerful, full
of fun, and prettily dressed.
Arlesey W. I. send their condolences to her family.
We will miss her.
