This was carried out on Monday 13th October to all the roads north of the War Memorial. It was agreed that the parking of commuter cars is creating problems for residents and strict enforcement was needed. A survey by Bedfordshire Highways will begin on 3rd November 2014 and all effected residents will be asked to their preferences for parking restrictions. It has to be pointed out however that the final decision will rest with Central Bedfordshire Council. During the meeting the Strategic Transport Planner also looked at the parking on the north side of the Station. where we highlighted a number of issues for cars, pedestrians and cyclists. The result was to look at installing a Cycle Rack with further Disabled Car Parking and a 20 minute drop off parking zone. We have also requested that a new footpath be installed to enable passengers to approach the Peterborough side platform without having to cross the footbridge. The outcome of the survey will be a report to Traffic Management Committee with recommendations on suitable solutions, we will be pushing for a quick implementation of these recommendations.
