Organised by the Stotfold and Arlesey Branch of the Royal British Legion. A report from Hugh Harper is on page 7. The cover image for this month was also taken at the service. The Arlesey Remembers You project is going from strength to strength with a date now set for the screening of the film which will be a permanent reminder of our fallen soldiers from the first world war – see page 6. St Peter’s Church is set to have a new vicar. The Reverend Geoffrey Boult will start in the post on September 1st – see page 4. A survey form is printed on page 10 from the Arlesey Good Neighbour Scheme. Please take time to read and fill out the survey, if you would like to participate in the scheme, then send it to the address on the bottom of the form. On pages 4 and 5 this month you will see a piece of editorial and an advert about the newly formed Independents for Arlesey, who will be holding a public meeting at the Football Club on the 17th September. If the plan to designate the village as a Neighbourhood Area is accepted the Town Council will look to prepare a plan, and comments will be sought at that time. The plan of the area to be designated is available to view on the CBC website: www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/planning/strategic-planning/ neighbourhood-plans.aspx The plan if accepted would give Arlesey a greater influence over future development of the village.
