Please ask for further guidance. arlesey remembers you – update So far I’ve filmed interviews with direct relatives of some of the soldiers on the War Memorial, I’ve filmed with the local primary school children as they made the crosses to be laid. I dragged a friend along to help me cover the incredibly moving Civic Service which saw the laying of the first eleven crosses and the public launch of the project in general. Over 300 people turned up to witness this and the church was bursting.  I’ve interviewed Duncan, the project originator and filmed the working party at work as they designed and put together the 87 commemorative packs that will be given out to each volunteer cross layer.  Will, who has been helping with the project, has found out he is in fact a direct descendant of one of the soldiers. He witnessed his Grandfather lay a cross for his Uncle at the Civic Service and laid a cross himself with his brother for another soldier buried in St Peter’s. Shayne has also been helping.  I’ve filmed with Arlesey resident and artist David who is going to produce 87 individual bespoke etchings depicting a personal story of each soldier. The plan is these will be released on the date of each soldier’s death. its a four year project inspired by Arlesey Remembers You.
