decisions about how much activity to require for completion of the Award and the timescale. Our Award therefore includes participation in our academic personal tutoring arrangements, a minimum of 3 activities from a comprehensive list of both curricular and co curricula opportunities and writing a reflection on each activity in the e-portfolio. Crucial to our thinking was both the promotion of the variety of opportunities available including obtaining practical experience, leadership skills, enterprise abilities and cultural awareness and the development of the students’ ability to reflect on the value of participating in these. Students are encouraged to register on the Award when they start with us and complete it over their time here. After a period of intense effort over the summer, working with a small team of staff from Employability and Enterprise and liaison with academic and professional departments, pulling together all the activities, marketing and processes to support the Award, we launched in September 2013 with a target of achieving 600 registrations in its first year across all undergraduates. In fact we exceeded this target by achieving almost 950 registrations, along with over 100 of our final year students completing the award (roughly a third of the final year students who were registered on the award).
