“ I am most intrigued with the innovation around Internet of Things ( IoT ). IoT can be anything from an individual with a heart monitor implant to any other natural or man-made object that can be assigned an IP address and provide the ability to transfer and exchange data over a network . IoT has evolved over the last 15 years and is helping to break down the walls between operational technology and information technology , allowing unstructured machine-generated data to be analyzed for insights that will drive improvements .”
“ In 2017 , we will see more and more devices get ‘ smart ’ and become controllable via our digital assistants . Existing manufacturers and countless startups will make products that will interact with us in ways that have not been possible before . In an effort to play catch up , companies like Google , Samsung , Microsoft and Apple will no doubt follow Amazon ’ s lead and make amazing strides in this technology . The Internet of Things will become more and more mainstream and it ’ s up to us as technologists to make sure these devices connect to the network in a way that can be scalable , secure and seamless .”
