Canada has been praised as a leader in
multiculturalism, both in terms of our cultural
values and in our demographics. One in five
people in Canada is foreign-born, a higher
percentage than any other G8 country. In a 2002
Globe and Mail interview, Prince Shah Karim Al
Hussaini, the 49th Aga Khan and Imam of Nizari
Ismaili Muslims around the world, described
Canada as “the most successful pluralist society
on the face of our globe.”
