Chiropractor of the Year
Dr. Jason Busse
Dr. Jason Busse (CMCC, 1999) is well known
for his commitment to research, best practices
and new approaches for musculoskeletal issues.
Academic and clinical interests include chronic
pain, disability management, orthopedic medicine,
methodological research and other medically
unexplained syndromes. Currently an associate professor
in McMaster’s department of anesthesia, he was the principal
investigator and main editor for the 2017 Canadian Guideline for
Opioids for Chronic Non-Cancer Pain which pushed collaboration
forward by including spinal manipulation as a non-pharmacological
therapy to utilize. Working with an international team of clinicians,
researchers and patients, his contribution at the Michael G. DeGroote
National Pain Centre was instrumental in the development of the
guideline published by the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Dr. Busse is our chiro of the year for his leadership, investigative
passion and ability to advance awareness of approaches to MSK
pain in addition to generating a wider conversation about the role
chiropractors can play in patient health care.
