C
hiropractors combine the spirit of an entrepreaneur with the
heart of a health care provider. This drives so many of our
colleagues to continually reassess and reimagine the care they
provide in order to have greater impact on their patients' health. This
issue of ON Chiropractic is focused on identifying some of the ways
you can do just that in your practice.
For years now, Canadian society has been evolving to better understand mental health conditions and their
treatment. Along the way, we began to understand the impact of psychological healing on physical ailments.
Research has now incontrovertibly connected mental health conditions, like depression, and the management of
musculoskeletal conditions, like chronic low back pain. The first in a series of two articles looking at the role of
Cognitive-behavioural Therapy and chiropractic will demonstrate that connection. In our next issue we will share
ways to incorporate this powerful tool into your practice.
We will also continue our exploration of the healing power of exercise therapy as a component of chiropractic
treatment plans. Dr. Mike Takes, National Manager of Chiropractic Services for GoodLife Fitness Clubs, Ltd.
will be our guide on this leg of the journey.
ON Chiropractic’s standard departments offer guidance on how to take full advantage of an innovation in the
marketing world know as the “Zero Moment of Truth”. We will also share a refresher on the CCO’s Code of
Ethics and the stories of three of your colleagues who are promoting the profession in their communities.
We hope these stories will encourage you to focus on the horizon as you grow your practice.
We’re here for you.
