In Mexico, one of the workers I supervise had been struggling with trusting God, especially with his finances. He started working on his day off, but I wondered if I could really tell him how to use his free time. After praying for a month, I felt like God wanted me to challenge him about trusting God and dedicating his day off for family and relaxation. God confirmed this quickly, three times in a conversation with the worker. As I came to challenge him, he started crying and told me how two weeks earlier, the Holy Spirit had convicted him about this. I never had to give an ultimatum because the Lord had gone ahead of me and already done it. Why am I surprised? Prayer is such an amazing tool, and God is so gracious to hear our prayers. Steven Cosslett, OMS Mexico Field Leader, One Mission Society charms to be burned. As our team leader set the charms on fire, a second miracle took place. It started raining! It rained so hard, the villagers had to throw gasoline on the charms for them to burn properly. As a result of these testimonies, we have started training centers and churches there, and the former high priest is our person of peace. Indeed, our God is good. In another country in Africa, K* was a young Muslim orphan, living with her aunt. She was initiated into generational, ancestral worship of the god of the forest. As a result, K could not live a normal life because she heard and danced to drum beats every night—drums that no one else could hear. She kept having seizures that caused her to fall down whenever she wasn’t dancing. Thus, she felt she had to stay at the shrine of the god for days in order to prevent these seizures from happening. When one of our brothers from a nearby training center heard about this, he told K’s aunt that God could deliver her. The aunt, who was desperate to find a cure for her niece, was skeptical, as she had already spent a lot of money without finding a solution. However, when our brother told her that we Christians pray for everyone without charging, this got her attention. She agreed to take her niece and go with the brother to our training center. Today, K is completely delivered from the generational ancestral worship. Her face radiates joy, peace, and love. Her aunt and cousins are also now believers, and she is a strong witness for the Lord through her testimony. OMS South Africa *Name withheld for security reasons. In Madagascar, one particular village had been under a strong demonic hold that brought a heavy drought to the whole area. The satanic high priest, who made his income by suppressing and oppressing the witchcraft-practicing villagers, acted as overseer of the people in the village. As a result, the efforts of many churches and believers to bring the Gospel to this area had been futile. Upon hearing of this, our OMS church planting team, led by Pastor Solofo, visited the village. The first and second time, the villagers avoided our team, as they would rather be dead than be seen chatting with us. But when they went back for the third time, a witch doctor brought his 20-year-old son with epilepsy to us. He had tried hard to heal his son, but to no avail. Our God showed up with his healing hands, and the boy was healed. This healing made the high priest realize that there is a power stronger than the one he had always known. He gave his life to the Lord, and he, along with the villagers, willingly turned over their fetish 8 9
