One such moment
occurred for me in July
2013. My husband BJ
and I, along with a few
other OMS missionaries, were on a vision
trip that had not gone
well. We were exploring the possibilities
of moving into an
unreached region in
Ecuador called Loja
Province. It was a long five days.
Our kids were cranky, and my mind and
body were weary. The people of Loja were
cold and unwelcoming. The weather was hot.
Our car was making a clanking noise, and the
air conditioner had broken. My “moments”
were moving way too slowly.
We decided to spend the night in Saraguro,
which was the halfway point to our home. I
wanted to go to bed and forget this trip had ever
happened.
And then came the game-changing moment.
It had no introduction, and no one saw it
coming. Sometimes, that’s how God works.
Sometimes, it has to be that way so there is
no doubt that God alone gave us that moment.
A game-changing moment is meant to be
a marker in our lives that we can look back on
in times of difficulty.
