Behind the Scenes September-December 2019 Volume 4, No. 3 Outreach Online equips Christians to make disciples of Jesus Christ through informative, inspiring, and involvement-driven articles, which leads to deeper mission participation by serv- ing, giving, and praying. “The Great Commission is too big for any organization to do alone and too important for us not to try to do together.” This quote from Steve Moore, the former director of Missio Nexus, never strays far from my mind when I think about king- dom workers partnering together. Even if we don’t want to admit it, most Christian organizations and churches are competitive, just like many of us are in life. We want to be the biggest and the best, the most well-known, and the most popular. But let’s face it, when it comes to reaching the world, and that’s 7.7 billion people, of which 5.3 billion do not yet know Christ, that’s a lot of work still to do. There’s no way one church or organization can do it alone. We must work together! That’s what Billion.Global is all about … fitting together the pieces of our combined passion, exper- tise, and resources to share the Gospel with a billion people by 2026. You may ask, “What does this have to do with OMS?” Well, we’re one of the pieces, the founding organization, of the current 140 coalition partners working together to help fulfill the Great Commission by collaborating to reach this goal.
