Behind the Scenes
May-August 2020 Volume 120, No. 2
Rising Up
I have traveled all over the world,
but I have never stepped foot
in Africa. But I want to! When I
read the reports from our workers
there and see their photos, it
makes me want to meet the people
and see the beautiful land.
But that, and all other travel, will
have to wait until the situation
with COVID-19 passes.
Although the continent has its challenges, like
anywhere, God is definitely at work in Africa.
Challenges include poverty, illiteracy, droughts
and famine, corruption, and insecurity due to terrorism.
But in the midst of these trials, resilient,
passionate, hardworking people are awakening
and rising up to meet the challenges. And now,
the challenges of dealing with the virus, with fewer
resources, makes the situation that much more
difficult. But despite the circumstances, they are
becoming change agents in their countries by allowing
God to use them.
In this issue of OMS Outreach, you will read powerful
testimonies and learn more about the ministries
that are growing and thriving in 24 African
countries where OMS currently works. Join us in
praying for Africa.

By God’s grace, One Mission Society unites, inspires, and
equips Christians to make disciples of Jesus Christ, multiplying
dynamic communities of believers around the world.
One Mission Society is an evangelical, interdenominational
faith mission that makes disciples of Jesus Christ
through intentional evangelism and disciple-making,
planting churches, nurturing missional movements, and
training national leaders in Africa, the Americas, Asia, the
Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. OMS then joins
with those churches in global partnerships to reach the
rest of the world.
