OMS Outreach Outreach Online January-April 2020 | Page 6

Transitions in Haiti Since 1901, OMS has trained and equipped the sons and daughters of a nation to reach their own people. 4VEH’s staff—Haiti’s sons and daughters—are reaching their own people through 4VEH’s all-day broad- casts and outreach, which the Lord has used for the past 70 years to reach the lost, disciple believers, and build up the church across Haiti and beyond. 4VEH is now an independent, non-profit organization, separate but in continuing partnership with OMS. Storly and Kate Michel will continue to serve as OMS mis- sionaries but now in a seconded role to 4VEH to lead it into a new season. Min- istries like 4VEH that OMS started years ago have grown beyond OMS’ technical capacity to help them mature and grow. Bethesda Medical and Dental Clinic and Cap-Haitien Christian Ministries (formerly Cowman International School) are also be- coming independent entities with their own governing boards (just as Emmaus Bibli- cal Seminary, now Emmaus University of Haiti, has already done). Bethesda Medical Center now serves the Haitian people under the leadership of Dr. Rodney Baptiste and the Healthcare in Haiti Inc. board, in partnership with Mercy, Inc. Cap-Haitien Christian School is direct- ed by Melissa Gross, a Haitian board, and the Cap-Haitien Christian Ministries board, based in the U.S. and in partnership with Teach Beyond and OMS. Emmaus University is led by OMS missionaries Matt and Stacey Ayars, Haitian leaders, and a U.S.-based board. Starfish Kids and SHEEP, our child sponsorship programs, continue to be led by OMS, with many Haitians serving in leadership. Our church planting efforts, led by Every Community for Christ, also continue. We praise God for the kingdom impact of each of these ministries over the past decades. Please continue to pray for and support the efforts of these vital ministries in Haiti. 6
