Aldean Saufley felt called to work with OMS in Haiti in 1959 . He met his wife Ellen at an OMS conference in Winona Lake , Indiana , and they married in 1963 . Aldean worked with Radio 4VEH and ministered to many people in Haiti . Aldean and Ellen served with OMS for 43 years and retired in Pennsylvania . Aldean found many ways to share his musical talents with creativity and passion .
Carol Shelton and her husband Art sailed for missionary service in Japan in 1953 . She and Art welcomed many OMS crusaders , missionaries , students , and other visitors into their home . Carol shared her love of Christ with nonbelievers by teaching English and hosting American cooking classes . She served as Tokyo Biblical Seminary English chair and Christian education teacher . Carol and Art retired from OMS in 1997 .
Norma “ Jean ” VanDervort and her husband Kent started ministering in Haiti in 1973 . Kent was the treasurer , and Jean served as hostess . In 1983 , Kent and Jean , due to health issues , were reassigned to the OMS headquarters . They settled in Virginia shortly after , serving as regional directors in the northeast U . S . They fully retired in 1995 . No matter the outward circumstances , Jean was always quick to praise the Lord .
Naomi Williamson and husband Lowell felt God ’ s call to minister in 1958 . Most of their service was in Taiwan , but they spent many months of ministry in other countries . Her OMS career lasted more than 40 years . Naomi loved , strengthened , and encouraged others and was well known for her hospitality and zest for life .
