Many Ecuadorians and Mozambicans are leaders and pastors of
our churches today because of the love and mentoring that Bruce
and Mabel Callender poured into them. Their gentle spirits, love for
God and others, and encouragement to go deeper in ministry are
their lasting hallmarks.

Tom:
In 1978, I went to Ecuador for a year
of mission exposure with the purpose of
teaching beekeeping to students at the
Sinai Bible Institute, a Bible and vocational
school for Ecuadorians desiring to go into
ministry. Bruce Callender served as the director of this school in Carboncillo, located
in the southern Andes Mountains. I really
didn’t know much about the Bible school
when I arrived, but the Lord had plans for
me and used Bruce to influence me.
