Urgent Need to Restore the
AM Signal to Reach a Nation
for Christ
By Kate Michel,
Marketing & Communications Director,
Radio 4VEH/Resounding Hope
It all started with one man who had a
burning desire to tell others about Jesus.
When the Lord gave missionary G.T. Bustin
a vision for a new work, he obeyed. The
vision, followed by obedience, prayer, giving of gifts, talents, resources, and hard
work led to Radio 4VEH’s first broadcast
June 2, 1950.
The birth of Radio 4VEH in Haiti later
became the entry point for One Mission
Society, spearheaded by Men for Missions,
into what is now one of OMS’ largest mission fields.
Sixty-four years after that first broadcast, these are exciting times as we see
the Lord positioning and strengthening
Radio 4VEH for significant Gospel impact
across Haiti and beyond.
struggled financially for decades. Regular
maintenance, repairs for equipment and
infrastructure, and investments for future
ministry have been impossible as we’ve
focused solely on staying on the air every
day.
But praise the Lord, Radio 4VEH has
recently moved from a long history of
being financially “in the red” to being “in
the black.” It has taken hard work, tough
decisions, and many sacrifices ... and the
prayers and generosity of faithful donors
who have given gifts large and small to
move Radio 4VEH to stronger financial
ground.
And while the ministry is “out of intensive care,” there’s a long recovery ahead
to equip the radio station for effective,
long-term ministry and to continue speaking the Gospel into people’s lives. Thank
you for your continued support.
Out of Intensive Care

Long Service in
Christian Broadcasting
Part of Radio 4VEH’s infrastructure—two
AM radio towers and property affecting
our broadcast reach across Haiti—is in
urgent need of repair.
A several-phase project to restore the
Petite Anse site is in process—to replace
radio towers, restore full signal strength
(to reach 10 times as many people currently being reached), and to secure and
protect the integrity of the site for longterm ministry.
We’re now in the final phase with 95 percent of funds already given for this project.
We have a small window of opportunity in June, July, and August to get the
project completed during the drier season. Lord willing, and with your prayers
and donations for the remaining $25,000
needed, we will:
• Replace two crumbling AM towers.
• Protect the property by providing
better security and completing the
perimeter wall.
• Restore daily transmission of the
Gospel, health information, farming
advice, and emergency broadcasts.
On February 25, 2014, the National Religious
Broadcasters (NRB), the world’s preeminent association of Christian broadcasters and communicators, honored Radio 4VEH with a Milestone
Award, which recognizes more than 50 years of
faithful service in Christian broadcasting. This
year, Radio 4VEH celebrates 64 years of serving
God and the Haitian people through radio.
Partner with us through your prayers
and financial support to restore the AM
signal and reach a nation for Christ.
