More Than a Handful

Rebekah and I married in June 2010. We spent our honeymoon driving from Denver to New Jersey, which we don’ t recommend, with a trailer behind us and a few vague job prospects in our future. On the drive, we felt the Lord calling us to a new level of faith.
We have a dear friend who is a missionary in Russia, working with orphans. While cruising through Kansas, we both heard the Lord say:“ Support her with $ 300 a month.”
The command was no simple thing. We faced $ 25,000 in student loan debts that needed to be paid off in two years, our

savings was wiped out by the move, and I had just found out that my job as a teacher would be paying $ 4,500 less than I thought it would. We were already giving to another ministry, and this amount dramatically superseded our tithe.
