Mission Society, has been used by God to
not only provide a solid education but also
to share the Good News of Jesus Christ
with hundreds of students and their families over the past five decades.
Established in the late 1960s by OMS as
a ministry to missionary families, Cowman
has expanded to reach beyond North
American missionary kids and Englishspeaking Haitian children. Students now
include kids who have been abandoned
by their families, children in the adoption
process, children of Haitian government
leaders, and kids of international business
people.
In recent years, student enrollment has
exploded. It has increased by 540 percent
over the past 5 years, from 25 students to
160 students.
The rapid growth at Cowman has not
been without growing pains. The work that
God is doing now through the school is a
result of the efforts of so many who came
before ... people who toiled, who planted,
who watered, who prayed, who laid the
groundwork for God to do a mighty work
for such a time as this. As I look back over
the years, I am amazed at all that God has
done. Time and time again, he has provided us with teachers and materials. He
made a way with so many situations that
seemed hopeless.
Today, Cowman School provides a highquality, Christian education for students
from preschool to high school. As we grow
and develop, we pray that we may never
forget that God’s desire is for these kids to
see him through us—that they might know
him, love him, and follow after him always.
As God continues to grow us, we pray
for him to send us more teachers who have
a love for children and a desire to impact
the next generation for his kingdom—to
give them a solid education and introduce
them to Jesus Christ.
Reading God’s Word is part of the education Cowman
provides.
High school students work on a project together.
A Cowman education gives children the opportunity to
dream about a bright future.
