OMS Outreach Jan - Apr 2016 | Page 4

Mark Batterson, author of The Circle Maker, reminds us that God won’t answer 100 percent of the prayers we don’t pray and that the greatest tragedy in life is the prayers that go unanswered simply because they go unasked. “You do not have, because you do not ask” (James 4:2b). I invite you to stop, drop, and pray at least once a day for a minimum of 30 days, asking God for: • An obsession with him, not with a vision. • Humble, dependent hearts coupled with deep, vibrant faith. • Supernatural empowerment to carry out this vision. • Divine provision of the needed people, partners, and financial resources. • A whole-hearted commitment for all glory to go to Christ, not to us. Prayer defies analysis, baffles the intellect, flings aside theories, makes common sense nonsense, the most unlikely thing a possibility, the unexpected a glorious surprise. We will share more information about our growing prayer ministry and the stop, drop, and pray initiative in the months ahead. With great joy, we welcome Shirley Carlson as the new director of OMS World Intercessors. Shirley, an OMS missionary for 20 years, along with her husband Greg, has a calling, a heart, and a passion to see prayer front and center in the global work of OMS. If you would like to be counted among those committed to stop, drop, and pray, please sign up online at onemissionsociety.org/1billion, or email us at [email protected] to receive a short monthly email with three succinct prayer points. A growing sense of holy anticipation fills the hallways of OMS and, more importantly, the hearts of more and more people as we pray for God’s help in carrying out this vision. May this holy anticipation grip your heart. May you join with many who are committed to calling out to God through prayer. Let’s ask him, by his grace and power, to enable us to have a global impact that’s completely disproportionate to who we are but not disproportionate to who he is … all for his glory!
